The Chicagoland Thunderbirds are proud to be the headquarters for Thunderbird lovers in the Metropolitan Chicago Area.  We are the Northern Illinois Chapter of the Vintage Thunderbird Club International (VTCI)

Chicagoland 'Birds' really do have more fun!  Hosting a variety of events throughout the year such as car shows, meetings, gatherings and overnight drives that take us all over the Tri-State area.  Take a look at Upcoming Events to see what's in store this year. Then take a look at all the fun had at Past Events.   There is definitely something for everyone!

Once joining the Chicagoland Thunderbirds, you'll start receiving a copy of our monthly newsletter - the 'Bird Word'.  It features articles on upcoming events, technical tips, recent club activities, great recipes, promotions and news-clips from other chapters' newsletters. 

Don't say automobile lovers have to be men.  The Chicagoland Thunderbirds is divided just about equally between male and female automotive enthusiast.  Spouses and children play an important and active role in all club activities, making our organization very family oriented.

It won't take long for you to realize there's more to this 'Bird' than its feathers.  We have a collection of some of the best Thunderbird 'brains' in the Midwest.  You'll find a great group of friendly, knowledgeable people, willing to help each other over technical hurdles by sharing the experience of years and years of 'Bird watching' and working!  Besides technical help, another benefit of joining the Chicagoland Thunderbirds lies in the access to numerous sources for parts, as well as restoration services.  Should you be looking to buy your 'dream bird' or even just need some parts, we have a lively exchange of members buying and selling items through our monthly newsletter or check out the For Sale section of the website.

The Chicagoland Thunderbirds' web site is a gateway in to wonderful world of Thunderbirds.  Remember behind every word or electronic link, there stands a member of our club willing to lend a hand with any problem/question you might have with your classic, vintage or even late model 'T-Bird'.

The fees to join this wonderful club is $30.00 annually.  Plus, as you participate in club activities and tell your friends and family about the great fun you've have, you'll get $5.00 off of your annual dues for each new membership you bring to the club.  You could end of having all of this great fun for free. You don't even have to own a Thunderbird to enjoy all of the advantages of membership.  If you own a 'Bird', we welcome all years - from 1955 to the present.

During 2008 Chicagoland Thunderbirds club members were seen around the area at 5 various venues and the calendar for 2009 is to be filled with at least 7 car shows.  Something for everyone!
